- Directions: Meet in front of the entrance to the Happy Valley Garden at the time written on your booking. What to bring : Wear shoes which you don't mind getting muddy, clothes to cover up if you don't like the cold (especially in winter) or mosquitoes. And bring something for the rain and and something for the sun too. Bring some mosquito repellent in the summer, especially after heavy rain as bamboo is the perfect breeding ground. Directions for access : From Saint-Denis, take route de Bellepierre as far as the village of Le Brûlé (PK 11). It should take 30 minutes by car from the Bellepierre CHU to the village of Le Brûlé. If you are arrive in the village of Le Brûlé where the road splits in two: one road climbs towards La Roche Ecrite; the other goes back down to Saint-François. Park on the Le Brûlé village square (Place des Azalées), just before the church, and then do the rest of the journey on foot (approximately 5 minutes): there is nowhere to park in front of the entrance to Happy Valley. On foot pass in front of the “Le Brûlé grocery store”, on your right, which forms, still on the right, a corner with Allée Félicien Vincent. - Take Allée Félicien Vincent. - On your right there are 6 small underground houses, down below. Carry on. - Still on your right there is a bamboo hedge. Carry on for a bit. - There is a little gate hidden inside this hedge. Your guide will be waiting for you there. If there is intermittent drizzle the tour will go ahead. If there is heavy rain the tour will be cancelled. Participants will be notified by text on the morning of the tour (message sent by your guide before 8am). Participants will then be able to either choose a new tour date depending on the schedule (next dates announced on www.lebeaupays.com), or be reimbursed in full (speak to the tourist office to make your refund application).
